The Perseverance rover captured a stunning image of a solar eclipse on Mars while one of the planet's moons, Phobos, was passing in front of the Sun.

The shadow cast by Phobos during the eclipse is minimal on Mars due to the moon's relatively small size. In the background of the image, the colored dots are not stars but rather artifacts created during the imaging process.
