In Tanzania, a rescue helicopter crashed on Mount Kilimanjaro, resulting in the tragic deaths of five individuals on board. The incident occurred at an altitude exceeding 4,000 meters above sea level, in a region popular for climbing on the mountain.
The helicopter was carrying two foreign citizens evacuated for medical reasons, accompanied by a local doctor, guide, and pilot as part of a medical evacuation mission for patients. The crash occurred during the transportation of the injured individuals, leading to the loss of all passengers and crew on Wednesday evening.
An investigation into the accident is underway as the aircraft belonged to Kilimanjaro Aviation company, specializing in medical evacuations. A special commission has been established to determine the cause of this aviation disaster on Mount Kilimanjaro.
